Description

The City of Annandale is working collaboratively with Minnesota Department of Transportation, Corinna Township, the Annandale Care Center and Annandale School District to complete improvements to the Hemlock Intersection at Highway 24 and perform street improvements from Highway 24 to County Road 6.

Planned Improvements:

  • A roundabout will be installed on Highway 24 at the Hemlock intersection.  The roundabout will be constructed under a full roadway closure and detour.
  • Street improvements will be made to Hemlock Street from Highway 24 to County Road 6.  During the street improvements, traffic will be limited to one lane.  

Access and Detour Information:

  • The HWY 24/Hemlock intersection will be OPEN to traffic Friday, September 1, 2023 at 5pm. 
  • The roundabout located at Highway 24 and Hemlock Street will be constructed under a full roadway closure and detour.  The intersection will be closed starting July 7, 2023.  Hemlock Street east of Highway 24 to County Road 6 will remain open at all times for local traffic ONLY. 
  • Residences located along the project will have full access to their property during construction. 
  • Access to the Pleasant Vista Assisted Living Facility at the Hemlock intersection will remain closed during the TH 24 closure and detour. 
  • Access to the Annandale Elementary School will be via Poplar Avenue as directed by the School District. 
  • The public shall follow the signed detour as posted below for the project detour.

 

Status Updates

The intersection at Hwy 24 and Hemlock Street will be open to traffic starting Friday, September 1st at 5pm

  • Substantial Completion Date:  September 1, 2023 at 5pm. 
  • Final Completion Date:  November 17, 2023
