The Putting the Heart into the Heart of the Lakes Award celebrates exceptional contributions to the Annandale community. Presented by the Annandale City Council, the award recognizes individuals, youth, and non-profit organizations/businesses whose recent activities have made a positive impact on the community.
An Individual Nominee shall be someone who lives within the Annandale community and whose recent activities:
- Have directly benefited the community of Annandale.
- Are voluntary and/or go above-and-beyond a paid employee’s usual job responsibilities.
- Have displayed a reaction or acted in a manner that has protected life and/or property in Annandale.
The Youth Category Nominee shall be a school-aged youth who:
- Lives or attends school in Annandale.
- Has shown exemplary work in school, volunteer, community service and/or faith community activities that benefit our community.
The Non-Profit Organization/Business Category nominee shall be an organization that operates within the City of Annandale and whose recent activities:
- Have directly benefited the community of Annandale through a new initiative or community program.
- Demonstrated leadership that encourages volunteerism and community initiatives that support Annandale residents.

To submit a nomination, please provide detailed information about the nominee and their contributions to the Annandale community. Nominations can be submitted through the city’s website or in person at City Hall, 30 Cedar Street East.
