RESIDENT NOTICE– Odd/Even Watering Restrictions in Effect
Although recent conditions in Annandale may not appear unusually dry, the City is located within the Mississippi-Headwaters Watershed, which the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has placed in the Drought Warning Response Phase.
As a public water supplier serving more than 1,000 residents, the City is required to implement water conservation measures outlined in our DNR-approved Water Supply Plan. In accordance with that plan, the City of Annandale is implementing odd/even lawn watering restrictions effective immediately and until further notice.
Watering Schedule:
- Odd-numbered addresses: Water on odd-numbered calendar days.
- Even-numbered addresses: Water on even-numbered calendar days.
The DNR's declaration is based on conditions throughout the Mississippi-Headwaters Watershed, including groundwater and long-term water storage conditions—not just what we are seeing locally. These conservation measures help reduce overall water demand and protect our regional water resources.
Residents are also encouraged to:
- Water lawns only when necessary.
- Repair leaking faucets, hoses, and irrigation systems.
- Postpone non-essential outdoor water use, such as power washing, washing vehicles at home, and filling swimming pools when possible.
For more information on how you can reduce water usage, visit the DNR’s Water Conservation Page.
These watering restrictions will remain in effect until the DNR removes the watershed from the Drought Warning Response Phase.
